The scenario is getting close to completion now. The ghosts have been added mostly, the units have all been worked out, and most sections of the story are finished. The defending part is now tested as well as the fellowship paths. A lot of the map around Noobdor has been finished off too, including some eye candy too horrible to post here. Now we need only complete the puzzle where Centy rescues Phill and Lorry, add in some small newb outposts around the map, and test the siege and AI to see it is possible, and reasonably balanced. There's one spare plot still, if anyone wants it. There's also some n00bic designing available in Noobdor. If you have a newbic eye candy you want to see in Noobdor, design it on some desert and post a picture here, and I'll copy it into the map if it looks awful enough We'll try to finish the project off over the next month or two, but any help is appreciated. The Fall of the Newbs Teaser (the prequel scenario All Your Base Are Belong To Us) will be released on March the 22nd to commemorate the projects anniversary. -Richard Plots left: 1 Who the scenario is with: The scenario is a mix of build and destroy and fixed force, with puzzle, defend and diplomacy elements. The map and gameplay are based a lot on Lord of the Rings, this being because so many n00bs have made LOTR campaigns, and since it’s just plain funny. The story is a collection of comical dialogues and writing, including an edited language dll. This topic serves as a discussion place for the contributers, as well as a showcase for the scenario. Everyone is encouraged to add their contribution, whether it be designing, adding a funny dialogue to the story or making a little artwork. So saddle up, get the coffee ready, and prepare for the fabulous experience known as Fall of the Newbs! P.S. Square houses blocks, wonky desert paths, cliffs on elevations, cliffs in water, cut off cliff chunks, spastic water (on the edges with fast dragging), spastic water using elevations tricks, buildings (TC) surrounded by two tiles of forest, uber thick walls (with gaps in them anyway), squared forest terrains/terrain borders, pine into jungle, messed up shallow tiles moved randomly Newb territory is outlined by mountains, like Mordor from LOTR. Great map design on one side of the montains, decadence on the other. The 'Friendly Newbs' player has a couple of villagers that build markets and government centers in massive numbers for no apparent reason (in a large area of open space). Newbs have granaries next to stone mines, storage pit next to farms/berries Have an empty plot as a reference to the (BEING PHASED OUT) and (UNUSED AT THIS POINT) parts in per files. These can be in or near AoEH or maybe Noobton, (and written with cacti, dead trees or whatever, marked out with blank grass with a desert edge) The Granary, the Siege Workshop, Andrea Rosa Fan Club, Academy, Forums (3 markets for the three main forums), Town Center, Hogs Head Inn. We could dedicate Ingo a Greek Wonder. Better, one for Ingo and one for Imhotep, like the two statues of the kings in LOTR. And perhaps 'Yason' aka 'Tabb' - notorious AoEH troll You can clearly see where the town is, it's surrounded by walls. I've divided the different plots in town by pulling through desert (these desert strips will serve as roads later on). Choose any free plot, as you'll see others have already done their estates. Please choose red or grey for your buildings, red is Iron age Yammy and grey Iron age Greek because they look the nicest. Blue will be the players (=AoEH forumers). You can do anything you want with your plot, put elevations, cliffs, water etc. in it. If you've got a plot adjacent to the river, feel free to delete the river if you want any eyecandy close to the water, just remember to put the river back in before you send it (shallows please!). Don't worry about the number of plots, if they run out, we'll just take some more n00bish territory...
