    The Canyon of Death

    The Canyon of Death

This is a pretty common scenario, a gauntlet to run without getting totally annihilated, but with a twist. You need to reach two Heavy Transports waiting to the South, behind a wall, and you need to get there with as many men intact as possible.

To start, use your ranged weapons, Composite Bowmen and Horse Archers, to kill anything in your way before it gets to you. Head South, then wind around and down the cliffs, taking out as many of the enemy units toward your South flank as possible on the way. You’ll meet them later if you don’t.

Use your Cavalry to take out the enemy Catapults, close with them and kill them as quickly as you can, and use the ranged weapons against anything else. Ignore all Towers on the way to the Southern tip, where you’ll need to bash a hole in the wall to get to the Heavy Transports.

Load as many of your men as are left on the Heavy Transports and head toward the flags, when you land you’ll find another force waiting for you. Heal any wounded with the Priests, then load the Heavy Transports with your Cavalry and Swordsmen, and land them on the island just to your North. Stay on the beach and just move a little inland, don’t get attacked by the Towers or any enemy units.

Now land your ranged weapons right behind them, plus one of the Catapults and one Priest. Land the other Catapult to the West, behind the trees, with the Priest. Use this Catapult to attack the Tower there, and the Priest to heal the Catapult as needed. This should draw some of the enemy units to the South, and you can now begin to attack any units in range.

Use your Horse Archers and Composite Bowmen to attack any enemy Composite Bowmen or Horse Archers they can reach, but keep them in the rear. Use your Cavalry to take out the two enemy Catapults as soon as possible, and use your Priest to convert enemy Hoplites. Transport your other Priest and Catapult back around, and fire your Catapults at any clusters of enemy units, even if your own units have closed with them. The idea is to take out all your enemy units while keeping at least one of your own alive to claim the artifact. Ignore the Towers, grab the Artifact and transport it back to your island for the win.
