Siege of Athens

Campaign Walkthroughs

Siege of Athens

This is one of the easiest scenarios to complete, since all you need to do is capture the four Artifacts. To start, grab all your Villagers outside the walls except two, and move them into Athens through the one gap in the wall. Put four Villagers on repair duty, filling the hole you walked through and repairing any damage to the walls, and send the rest to the shore. Get the Heavy Transport from the East and pick up your Villagers, transporting them to the two islands in the middle that have Stone. Build Storage Pits and mine the Stone for repairs in Athens.
Take the remaining two Villagers outside the walls and move as far North as you can, and build a Storage Pit behind the forest. Have these two chop wood, with luck you won’t be discovered. Take that wood and build Triremes, three in addition to the ships you started with, and Trade Boats. Send at least three trade boats, preferably four to the Yellow Docks at the far South of the map. Trade food for Gold.
Build Fishing Ships and fish for Food to trade for Gold. Send your navy along the coast picking off any Red units you find and defending your city walls from the sea. Eventually, the tide of attacks will cease and you can start to re-build for the counter attack. Build a Priest to heal your units if you need to, and build a Scout in the Stables. When it’s ready, put it on the Heavy Transport and send it Southwest. Send your fleet along too.
If you’re lucky, you can complete this scenario with just the Scout. Land near the Southern end of the land and run along the map edge toward the Northwest. You’ll find the four Artifacts hanging out together near the corner of the map. If you’re lucky, you can run in and claim all four before they get re-claimed and you’ll win. If not, keep your Scout moving and head to the North, drawing units away from the Artifacts.
In the meantime, build up a force of ten Bowmen and land them near the Southern edge also. Their job is to pin the enemy units down, so keep firing and taking on anything that comes your way, but don’t move. Don’t fire at the Brown forces if you don’t have to, you may luck out and not have them attack. Now assemble the Legions you started with, and tear a hole in your Wall and move them out. Move out with your Hero as well, and any Priests you have, you’re going to fight another decoy battle here. Move your Legions into battle and keep healing them as long as possible, this will draw most of the enemy either North to fight your Legions or South to take on your Bowmen. Have your Triremes patrol the coast and pin down as many forces as you can too.
Now, simply run your Hero Southwest until you can capture the Artifacts. He has enough defensive power and can also take out the few units that will remain to guard the Artifacts, so you should get an easy win.
