Very detailed map-design, with some interesting things. New dll names and suporting music files.
This scenario plays quite fast, so try it please.[Edited on 05/28/10 @ 06:12 AM]

I agree with quite fun gameplay. It has very good map-design and the edited .dll was very well.
But Thompy, don't expect too many comments because it seems like there are not that many here nowadays. However, I was the first to download, and that was a few days ago. Now only 1 more has downloaded[Edited on 05/28/10 @ 08:52 AM]

I don't expect too many comments, but I do hope a lot of people will download. Thanks for the positive comment Basse, did you experience any bugs or crashes?
Oh and people, very important, look at the underworld before 5 minutes have past for maximum effect.[Edited on 05/28/10 @ 10:39 AM]

Didn't really find any bugs, just a question, do I need to kill the elephant? Because I can simply just walk around the "maze" part. Haven't tested it but it looks like I could, unless you places invisible trees there. |

the elephant (minotaur) is a victory condition. Yes you can walk around it, but you wont win. And because there's no transport, you can't ship more troops to the maze. I've tried to disable every alternate route, forcing the player to follow the path as it leads. |

Playability: 4.3
This is a simple scenario with a kind of Herakles trials styled theme. Basiclly a fixed force, puzzle, cinematic scenario. It doesn't take at all long to play, its straight forward, although initially confusing.
Balance: 3
Since its purely fixed force, you have to pretty bad at AoE to stuff this up too much. each section can be done in a couple of minutes with a minum of strategy. The scenario is more cinematic than anything else, you simply move around, watch a few fights, visit some exotic places, and meet a god. It all was a little too easy, more thought could have been given to making the challenges well, more challenging and less obvious.
Creativity: 4.4
What IS nice was the thought put into map design and bonus features. Atmospheric music and language.dll changes defintly give this scenario character. And the Map design is quite a step up from Thompsonc's usual style. It was nice to see him take a step away from his generic map design and try a few new ideas.
Map Design: 4.4
Like Gumble said, the map design is interesting and varied. Icy lakes, islands, the underworld! Just calm down on the 'QUICKLY LOOK AT THIS BEFORE THE TIME RUNS OUT!". all those different sights at the start only served to confuse the player, it seemes his attention was needed everywhere all at once. Try making some of the units gaia so the player has a clear sense about what he needs to do from the start.
Story/Instructions: 3
Several different myths and legends were thrown together as challlenges for this scenario, but diddnt really tie together in the story. Its kind of awkward, but then the point of this scenario is doing the challenges. Knowing Thompsoncs work, Gumble must again emphasis the importance of good, clear story writing as part of a scenario. A scenario can be absolutely fantastic, and as Gumble knows from personal experaince, if the story is either overdone or under-developed, it can extremly affeect the player's mood even before they play the thing!
Additional Comments:
This is a great atmospheric and entertaining scenario, but is kind of shallow. an experainced AoE player will find no unique challenge here, but a good ride none the less. |

Thanks for the review. This scenario was primarily build for the design. I never was a good writer, especially when doing fantasy stuff like this. It was a nice variation on the boring mod making though. Maybe I will put some effort in this later, making it more challenging. But I do think there were some points where you needed to think to survive, like with killing the Behemoth IIRC. I could only do that by using the villager properly, but you probably have outsmarted me again ;P.

Excellent work on the scenario - was really good, just one problem...
your scenario overwrote all my units, so when I go into scenario builder it contains all the units/changes from your scenario. As a result, I can't place villagers etc. How do I get the original units back so that I'm not placing behemoths and basilisks??? |

I only changed the names. Therefore you should replace the changed language.dll and languagex.dll in your aoe folder with the originals.
I believe I included the originals in the download too. |

I thought and decided that we need to create addon adventures of Hercules. The Hercules can be taken from the games that are created based on the disney cartoon 1998.( Hercules: The Animated Series).
And add such heroes as Icarus and Cassandra. |
