Yesterday I had a battle with several computer enemies on a difficult map. I was Carthage and tried my best to get out of that tight spot again, and though things were looking bleak at times I managed to win that match without having to reload, meaning that I got it right on the first try.
And now the challenge is for all other Rise of Rome players to also try to pull this fight out of the fire! There are two saved games of this battle contained in the zip file (copy them to your Rise of Rome savegame folder), and the mission is to win that match against the computer, by any means possible. The only rule is that you may not use cheat codes. And as soon as you load one of them you will also see the reason why I chose the title "look at this mess" for this savegame.
On a side note, I don't know if it works for the newest RoR patch as I'm still using the second-newest patch (don't remember its number).
Whoa!! Why do your pine forests have so much wood?? Each pine has 300 wood!! How??

Killer is right, the trees have way too much wood. How? You mentioned in the forums that you were having AoE trouble, but this is crazy!

I beat it. It was pretty simple to me, but I'm used to fighting the computer. Still it was fun, but it looked harder than it was.

The resource sites have more wood/gold/stone because I modded them to have more, so that the players don't run out of resources so quickly. On a side note, I have the troubles only on my new computer, this game was played on my old one where everything (including the mod) works correctly.
Yeah, once you get the hang of it, this saved game is quite easy to beat, but especially players who don't know much about the game are likely to screw this one up and lose to the green enemy's archers.

I won the game. Only problem I had was the lack of space. I just massed Impies and a couple Cavalries until I got them all.
EDIT2: You need to download AoEd/RoRd to modify resources or whatever it is that you wish. I just found it here in HG, but don't remember where. Google it if you can't find it.
It will take you about 10-15 minutes to set it up and get used to it. Really easy stuff.

I can't seem to be able to mod the trees or stone of anything to change their value. Could you make me the file to change their values?
