Well, this is my first submission even though i've actually been downloading and such for the longest time, this is jus my breakthrough, i have many more scenarios and campaigns done or half done. But this scenario was jus something i created jus to give a feel of the persian-greek confilict. i will not say it is historically based nor accurate, for i did not spend any time researching it. If you feel like editing it or erasing the map of greece or anything to that sort using my map then feel free just give me due credit and i honestly wouldn't mind a rating on this file either :D thanks. |

Its good that you use the Template, but you should polish it up,
1. Add Instructions
2. Add VC(Victory Conditions)
Hope this helps.. |

in all reality there are no specific victory conditions its archaic but its just a simple multiplayer scenario that is jus for plain fun, if i spent any time one vcs then it would require me to enhance it in other ways that would make it less compatible with just a straight multiplayer map, i just like to work with the basics and anyways, historical research is very time consuming but thanks |

Historical accuracy is essential for history campaigns other wise, well they are junk, take my old work Xerxes series which's history is not accurate got a bad review.
If you don't wanna research I recommend u do fantasy.[Edited on 03/22/07 @ 05:28 AM]

...AOE Mapper newb-What is wrong with you? Who ever said that... This is just a simple experimental MP map.. He's using his template already posted in the maps section.
This is pretty much historically accurate. If he had this scenario based upon the germans attacking UK in world war II and called it "persian wars" than it would be different. The persians REALLY DID invade Greece with a large army... And here it basically assumes that role. Your campaign "Xerxes and Rome" had hero Xerxes as Hannibal attacking the Roman Republic... While I have nothing against that, there is a clear difference.
I've tried this scenario out and will give it a review.[Edited on 04/28/07 @ 04:36 PM]

Playability: 2.7
This is more or less a random map game, excepting that one player has a large army and the rest start out normal. This can lead to a real fast throwdown by the player with the army, or the 7 other players can team together and find a way to hang on. This really isn't all too special... And obviously could've been made rather quickly, excepting the map, which is a template. The unique shape of the map also makes it somewhat interesting to play on.
Balance: 2.9
As said above, could be either a quick blow-out, which is likely, or the other team could hold on. I'd give the chance of one of the 7 greek civs getting into the iron age at about 30% if the player controlling the persians knows what he's doing. If the greeks can team up it can get interesting, but considering the lack of development in the scenario it'll eventually end up as random map play.
Creativity: 1.5
Nothing unique really, simple B&D play. City locations and the map were good and that was it.
Map Design: 3.4
Great for MP. Detailed without splooging about eye-candy from the enhanced editor. Features an adequate Greece and Turkey detailed with typical RM map things. The map itself is a unique shape. It is more detailed than the typical random map.
Story/Instructions: 2.2
While it really isn't required for MP, you should at least put something down to inform players on what's going on.
Additional Comments:Download if you want, but there's plenty better out there.
If you want the template to make your own scenarios, go to the real maps section.

So, this is trash because it isn't historically accurate? What about Ingo's campaigns... The Two Brothers etc... Are they trash too? You're not making sense. |
