This scenario belongs to my new campaign, "The Adventures of Jestor and Nestor". The bitmap is French, but you'll understand it quickly if you read the instructions. You must destroy enemy Wonders to win the scenario.
Playability: 5
This is a wonderfull example for a short, but very good scenario. You get a little introduction via history and instructions and then are put into your fight. And I bet, 95% won't do it on first attempt. I tried it four times until I found a way to win this scenario.
I really had to keep on trying until I finally managed to win the scenario. I don't think I'll play it again soon, but this is rather due to the fact that you have to work accurately - or you won't have a chance.
You have to destroy 3 wonders whilst you must defend the government center of another player. Sounds easy but it was damn hard. No bugs.
Balance: 5
Perfect. Really incredibly well-balanced. You have to use the right tactics. I'd advise you to play on normal speed - you will need the time you can save doing that.
Creativity: 3.5
You have to destroy three wonders and meanwhile defend a government center and you may not lose your hero. Good choice of victory conditions even though they are rather standard ones.
The story seems to be part of a bigger thing, yet it is quite nice and creative.
Unfortunately the map doesn't hold any creativity. There's nothing special about it.
I am sure this designer will show (even) more creativity next time.
Map Design: 2.5
The map is definately a random map whih has been modified. I'm sad to say that it hasn't been done very well. There are not enough elevations, there's no eye candy, nothing that is really nice. The forests are boring as well as the cities. Yet the amount of defence units and towers is pretty good.
Story/Instructions: 3.5
The author tells us a little story which seems to be part of some bigger one and then tells you what you have to do. So everything is clear to me, the hints are ok.
There's also a minimap in the beginning. It does its job but it's not very imaginative, though. Anyway, well done here. I'd be glad to see a whole campaign and thus get some more of the story.
Additional Comments:
download recommendation: No for weak players, otherwise YES.
comment to the author:
Try to use a bit more varied and/or strange victory conditions next time and pay alittle more attention to map design. In the end you could write a bit more story, I liked it. For balance and gameplay there's nothing to be improved so far. Very good work!
