This three-scenario campaign is made for aoe:ror, and is best played on 'hard' level...unfortunately during the process of editing the scenarios 1 and 2 i set 'Chronick Tribe' to player 3 (to get the yellow colour) and for some reason this mixes up the titles when you view the display icon in the lower left corner of the game screen, however it does not affect game play or victory conditions (hopefully lol). The title is a micky-take of the lyrics from a certain track by Dr.Dre, which inspired me in no way whatsoever! It is based on a rebellion by a tribe which was part of a great empire, which subsequently fell and the Chronick Empire finally realised it's full capabilities and potential, by beginning the expansion of it's empire. This is clearly (to me anyway) a good point to leave a campaign in order to do a sequel...however due to time constraints i've been unable to attempt to incorportate any .cty files, which i planned to do...this appears to be set to be worked on for another time by me. Overall i would judge this campaign to be 'moderate-hard'. I enjoyed making it, however it was slightly rushed at the end due to exams and big-time computer annoyances and problems (which thankfully are over for the time being), so if there are any major flaws or bugs then let me know and i'll try and get round to fixing them ;-) |

Playability: 4
I found the playability on this campaign to be quite well.It was an enjoyable campaign that even though it was difficult to beat at times, it kept me wanting to try over and over until i did.
Some of the conditions were hard to achieve for me but still they were able to be accomplished.
Balance: 3.5
The balance i found a bit off, because at times the computer was just overwhelming.
The race for the gold and the war chests were almost impossible, because the computer kept getting the gold faster than i did.
To build the wonder, the resources i needed were behind enemy lines, which made it a little difficult.
On the other hand, all the scenarios were beatable, with some patience and skill.
Creativity: 4
The creativity i thought was pretty good.
The story was nice and told well, and the maps and armies went according to the tale.
The bitmaps could have been better, but i'm not one to complain about maps.
Overall i was able to grasp the disigners idea
which i think is what it's all about.
Map Design: 3.5
The map design was good, but could use some work.
Some of the forests were a bit unrealistic,
(pine to oak to palm).More detail would have been nice, and some of the resources seemed a bit to convenient and cluttered.
But again it was oveall a nice map, just could use some tweaking.
Story/Instructions: 4
The story and instructions were pretty good.
Some things we were not told that maybe we should have been, and the layout was not the best, but the story was told well i thought.
overall a good story line, and again the story stayed true to the missions.
Additional Comments:
I enjoyed this campaign and would recomend it for download.
Overall it was fun and enjoyable, and had a plot.
That to me as a player is the most important aspects.
Thanks for the campaign. |

Playability: 4
This campaign begins with a Mirror tower puzzle (which I though was impossible at first - you need to act fast!) that lead into a wonderful B&D scenario where strategy is very important. Puzzle is a theme throughout the campaign, blended into the two B&D and one FF scenarios. Strategy is also important - tactics play a small part in puzzles but a good overall strategy is needed in every level. This feature of the campaign reminded me a lot of Phill's campaigns. In the first level a defensive strategy is needed, in the last, a brilliant island hopping scenario, you must invade the weakest islands first and work your way around them.
Balance: 4
The balance is excellent, especially in the two B&D scenarios. The only thing I didn't like was that the last scenario was impossible on hardest, the enemies simply gathered all their gold up before I could get there.
Creativity: 4
Very creative gameplay and some interesting map design, where the unique overall look was a theme throughout.
Map Design: 4
These maps are well built for the levels, with strategical placement of resources and terrain features to Gaia units for puzzles. The skill with the brush isn't perfect, but is made up for with some creative touches, such as playing as the yellow civ.
Story/Instructions: 4
The story was the let down for me, it just didn't seem that inspired. It was about General Hannibal and the oppressive ruler (SBE). I thought at first it was a lame 'play as yourself' idea, but SBE was actually your enemy. Not the most epic story, but solid in this area, with good instructions, and even some bitmaps.
Overall: 4
The campaign is a very fun play - I recommend you download it. |
