Playability: 2.2
"Tarzan" is a fixed force scenario where you start with a Perseus and travel down different cliff corridors, shooting clubbies and bowmen of different colors. Around the map are artifacts you have to collect and groups of units to aid you. Your objectives are to kill all of the "very evil monkeys" and to collect all the artifacts from the evil monkeys. The author claims that you "dont have to kill all the evil monkeys" but you have too anyway becuase the enemy's units are all lined up in front of the artifacts. Just another case of a pointless objective that is just a variation on "kill everything". I also didn't enjoy tearing down fortifications with tool age units. This was pretty bland and reptitive overall, too much waiting and baiting---you really feel a lack of motivation to finish the game.
Balance: 3
It's not easy micromanaging your way through the clubbies, and you do have to pay attention and form some formations. Some of the enemies get stronger throughout the course of the game, so when you start it's important to pick off those first. A little bit tricky and is good enough overall.
Creativity: 2.3
Perhaps the scenario is vaguely based on Tarzan, but the story and gameplay don't suggest it a whole lot. To be fair, the jungly setting was alright, although the extremely simple map setup kind of cancels it out. Not exactly original.
Map Design: 2
Cliffs and jungle, grass paths and fortification/towns. Has some stuff on it, but it's pretty simple.
Story/Instructions: 2.4
Mildly amusing, but the spelling errors and immaturity of it gets in the way somewhat. It's a short story thats worth reading and does get the point across with some hints and instructions. It really doesn't give you any ambition for the scenario, however.
Additional Comments: No. There are a lot of wait-and-bait scenarios out there, and there are plenty of better ones than this. This wouldn't be a terrible download for those who are very new to AoE, but even then, this is a bit slow and sloppy.
