It is based on the epic the Illad. You are Odessyous in the Trojan war. You are trying to win. Their are battle scenerios and building scenerios so it should be very fun for all!
Playability: 2
You became bored fast as all you had to was build your army to defeat your enemies. Endless resources and being able to advance at times very quickly made it not really fun to play as you knew the outcome as soon as you started.
Balance: 2.5
The balance was fair at best. Some scenarios tested you for a bit then fizzled out. Others just lingered and became boring. All were beatable in the end, as you never had to restart once you began the scenario. I must admit the last scenario was kind of neat.
Creativity: 2.5
I didn’t find this campaign too creative as it was plainly build and destroy you enemy or at times enemies. I found no reference to the Iliad what so ever except for the names. You can do this so many times before it becomes repetitive. I was praying for the end at scenario 9 and I still had 5 more to go.
Map Design: 3
14 individual maps that at times were interesting. Rolling hills with rivers and lakes broke up the landscape nicely. Our designer could have added more “eye candy” to give them more appeal. I am giving my score based upon the time this campaign was made as to how far we have advanced. I think this would be fair to our designer.
Story/Instructions: 1
A very small storyline with little to no instructions. I never bothered to check the hints as I felt they would be of little use. All you were told to do was build then destroy.
Additional Comments: It says it is based upon the epic Iliad and you are Odysseus in the time of the Trojan war. Our designer should have read up on his history as this is nothing like it. The date it was submitted was 2-2-99, and the no. of scenarios is a grueling 14. The battle scenarios and building scenarios are somewhat fun but taxing.
