Has anyone been successful at setting up RoR multiplayer games between Win10 machines strictly using a home router on an internal LAN? I'm not interested in playing WAN games, Gameranger, Voobly, or any other 3rd-party convolutions. I just want to play directly over IP with family in our own home.
Both machines were installed without difficulty from the same AoE Gold disk from the late 90s, then updated to UPatch HD. They both play single-player random maps fine, they just won't see each other's multiplayer games (in either direction). Firewall has been removed the equation. I have not tried a direct crossover cable, but I'm hoping I don't have to since eventually I'd like to spread out to a third machine.

Update: It started working. I'm not sure how or why. It's possible I was running as admin before and now I'm not.
