Hey,
Having one of those rare "Good" weeks and was checking out AOEH for old times sake (and some fact checking). And saw the "Happy 10th Birthday to Heavengames and AoEH" news post.
So as fast as my 21 year old fingers could type, I zoomed on over to the forum, read a bunch of the post, then on the last page saw the "topic" Only ran one day! and was closed! Which means only one of two things, having it open for such a short time as a mistake or I was 15 days late. Based on 15 years as a webmaster I knew, It wasn't my mistake.
Great to see AOEH is still around, and HG is still growing. Also it was a very nice feeling to see my account still active after all this years! Still using my ES_Archangel as my online name most of the time, but the ES now stands for Extra Special LOL. At times just Archangel, or Gfa_Archangel for GamesForAngels (http://www.gamesforangels.org/ com - not active ).
Still leaving ES without so much as a kiss my "behind" after coming down with a very rare autoimmune disease (Which by the way effects my writing, so if I drift subject to subject middle sentence - live with it ). I have been pretty much a house closet puppy. Downing pain meds like M&Ms and dozens of other pills daily. So much in-fact the government assigns two DEA agents to go with my wife each month when she picks up the refills.
Between my up and down times with the autoimmune, and the lawyers, book publisher, research and going thru mountains of emails of over ten years. Been slowly (like for close to two years now), putting a site together for a small developer first game, still pretty fall off in the future, but then the site is also. Nothing fancy as sites go, waiting on the site design to be completed by a old contact, and its based off the Nuke CMS platform.
Soon I hope at least to get a web blog up to hype my upcoming book about the Experiences and history at Civ II Heaven, AOE Heaven, working at ES/MS - the true story form the inside, what gamers don't know. If your a real old timer and remember Civ II or AOE or AOK Heaven or even when I worked at ES drop me a line atarchangel@gamesforangels.org and tell me your experience at those site with dates, etc.
I hope to have this book out by this summer, but we found a treasure chest of information, or I should say uncovered from a ES employee and the lawyers are doing their fact checking etc before we move ahead on this or in other areas.
Not much more than that, haven't driven my 2000 Trans AM in 2.5 years. Last upgrade were made around that time, around 430hp, more underbody / wheel work. She darn firm and tight, lot of cars with more HPs, but few that can handle on the back roads, handles even better on twisting dirt roads.
In closing I would like to say I have no ill feeling against ES or MS. Just a handful of their employees who have a habit of lying. Which parts will be given to the press and full disclosed in my book.
My biggest regret was trusting one person, who I give some much of my life to 7 days a week to that was a true example of evil. And one marketing person who I spend some much time with (who now holds a higher position at MS), has a lost of memory after MS marketing and sells credited me with selling One million copies of the Age series (In Wired Magazine - email me if you want the month) thru my online efforts. 30,000,000$ profit for ES/MS? Anuff with the wine..
Its time to dine.

Gosh Darn, When I was moving from Civ II to AOE, a good friend back in April of 97 put my whole site on a CD and mail it to me. Back then I was on a 1200baud modem and the Civ II site was 400MB (Huge by standards back then, since maps for Civ II ran only 10k, and full mods around 100k. At work he had access to a 100Mb connection. How times change. On this CD it also has the Original AOE Heaven site - all six pages of it, with the dozen or so of the first released images and screenshots released by ES/MS. Seeing how my health is in the next two weeks I will post it up age.gamesforangels.org.
