I never understood this, for boats it makes sense because you have a crew to convert as opposed to just a single person. For chariots and their archer variants it's just one person driving a horse. My only conclusion is that the horses in Age of Empires took a different evolutionary path and are just as sentient as humans and would refuse to obey someone who's switched sides. In which case why don't cavalry units and scouts have this resistance bonus themselves? Or are we dealing with a different breed of horses that are used solely for chariots or maybe the "horses" are actually magical ponies. I'm so confused...
