Well Babylonian is a great defensive civ and in 3v3 games but hardly anyone realises its potential.

Same with Sumerian, they are probably one of the best Hillz RM with double farm production and there cats aren;t too bad. They also have scythes, HHAs and ballista towers.

Well mace is tough. Decent early economic bonus (LOS) and 2 good bronze military bonuses with a strong early Iron.

-90 wood 40 gold ST's is great no problem with minoan

-bullet proof hoppers are good in early bronze. tear through cav/infantry/tool units wich are made mainly in early bronze theres about a 2 minute window hear where no one can touch your army. follow this up with compies/ST to tear through archer based armies wich are the kings of late bronze.

-In Early Iron they can get CHEAP ballistas wich tear through most everything including unupgraded ST followed by unconvertable eles with bullet proof phalanx/cents that can tear through HHA armies...

ever tried mace in a no siege DM? nothing can stop those centurians. not archers, no melee unit stands a chance except there centurians just add your HA and you tear through em.Scythe have no chance and priests are a joke.

Most underused civs in RoR:
1) Yam- nobody picks them because Cav supposedly gets vaporized by Camels and Yam has an inferior tech tree than most in Iron. They are still one of the fastest civs with great bonuses in Stone, Tool, and Bronze i.e. when it matters!
2) Mace- most misunderstood civ in RoR without a doubt. They are the best Civ in Bronze, yet rarely gets played to their strength. A mass of Hoppies and cheap ST's is too devistating for anybody to defend.

Dunno, I've seen a lot of yams and good amounts of mace...
I think you all know my stand on persia in RM so I won't bother repeating it.
I think 3 underused civs in RoR on 3v3 RM medit would be...
1. assy - They don't have the new slingers, but they can stop enemy bowmen with their own just as easily. Meanwhile, they're as fast to bronze as yammy and have a more varied bronze military with every mounted unit from camels to CAs. If things go iron, they still have a decent set of units (dual siege w/o engineering, trireme+flamer, HAs, ball towers, legions, priests) and a fine economy. Why aren't people using them more?
2. sumie - Nice cats, good farms. On medit you could stick to land food and tool early to hit the enemy's FBs with a handful of scout ships, then switch food production to your everlasting farms well away from shore so you don't have to spend tons of wood fighting for water dominance. You can put all that spare wood into tons of workshops and STs in early bronze, with some CA or camel backup, steamrolling over an opponent's town.
3. egypt - Very nice ChC/CA combo, seems to beat everything in bronze except mace hoppers. Scythes+EAs in iron do pretty much the same thing. The only major downside I see is they're kinda slow to start up, but then so are hittite and mace...

Yams rock...Babs are good...Mace definately. Eqypt gets plenty of playing time. So I don't think they should be considered not played.

However, I think one of the best "Unplayed Civs" is Rome. Having thrown that out there, I don't feel like backing it up with anything, so there!

Sumerian Leper:
I saw plenty of rome but thinking back on it, that was 3 years ago not recently... yes they're a fine civ.

WoW!!! I actually think... well all of the civs stated are great... how weird...

Yamie- good Cents, strong Navy, cheap Horses

Baby-legions, chariots, siege (inc towers), and those darn priest...

Mace- Extremely well civ, and have learned that (thanks to ya'll) that they are extremely well in many cicumstances...
cents, horses, cheap seige...
