We have two new Cherubs in town - Epd999 has been promoted due to being a skillful modder and having vast knowledge about the game, and EpiC_Anonymous having coding and moderating experience at Voobly.
Both are passionate about Age of Empires and I have no doubt they will do an excellent job at maintaining AoEH. Thank you both for applying, and welcome to the team!
You enlisted to be in the army, and you have been accepted - now wear that camouflage colour with pride!

Thanks for accepting us both into the team. I couldn't be more grateful that we were both chosen.
Hmm, maybe it's about time I start working on my own project again?
♚Lost Empires Mod♛ Maybe it's only a fool who'll perilously journey out to what might not be there. But if you want to solve problems, you don't just solve the ones that are there, you find more and make more and go after the impossible ones. The neanderthals never ventured into the unknown and they went extinct, so who are the fools?

Thank you everyone, and to clarify I'm in school for programming currently. I don't code on voobly, but I'm getting the hang of c++ and currently learning SQL.
Thanks again everyone!

I have thought about making a campaign myself, however I don't have the patience for the map making lol, and I am not familiar with writing ai and cty files and such I would need.
I would have to sit down to learn it if I could find the time, but if anyone wants joint projects let me know I'm down to work on something myself.
it doesn't help I'm more of a hands on learner, I learn better being shown something rather than reading and figuring it out. lol

Really the only time I wrote a .cty file was for that old Computer Wars contest. (I'm confident TailSpray forgot to load that in which was why I lost to Mapppp.)
It of course depends on exactly what you want to do, but for most applications I'd say you can probably get away with only writing AI files, which are pretty simple if you download the editor in the granary.

well, the big issue Is I don't know how it even works lol, when it comes to things I'm not very patient like with map making.
It is hard for me to make maps, as I'm not very generous on the map typically with eye candy and such, the few I put in typically I keep them very nice though, I like to make a very tough game more or less, I hate simplicity when I game or most anything else. I often spend times playing things like Crusader kings 2 or hearts of iron 4 due to their mass complexity in strategy and as a rts, even then they re hardly enough to fully keep me occupied and I barely play on any kind of easy mode, often in iron mode on one of the hardest difficulties.
I might work on something for the old ror or de.
hmm.. Maybe a poll! what do the people want more of, aoe ror scenarios / campaigns. or for de. would be nice to know what to work on most. though de is new, even now I still attempt to play RoR more on voobly.

I usually have tons of ideas for scns, what helps is I know what can be achieved with the editor and what it's absolute limits are. I love fooling around trying every weird combination. Last couple of years I made several scns, all looking pretty good, but I find it difficult to manage multiple scns and get them into a fluid campaign. I'm probably better off doing a large single scn instead. Perhaps in the near future I may just finish something for once.
I wont mind helping out where I can. You wont find a better tester than me. ill most likely try to exploit the game in any way possible when it comes ot beating levels. Never give up! lol
But I jst gotta find more time to put time into making them myself, and come up with a story and plot and all of that other good stuff. my biggest issue with making some historical scns/campaigns which I prefer usually is lack of information on things like maps and such for that time.
when it comes to something made up like fantasy, if it isn't a very good all around game and story to follow ill lose interest.
