Hallo!
Sorry if this is not the forum, or the properly way to expose this question.
In AOE ROR Upatch,
Is there a way to avoid certain / unwanted maps when selection "random" in map type?
Is there maybe a mod?
It probably shouldn't be difficult to create a mod that makes that, but I have no experience.
Any hint or advice?
Thank you!

Actually there could be a way : use AGE3 to overwrite the map types you don't like (copy-paste another one that you enjoy)
BUT map types are hardcoded and you will probbably have side-effects, for example in AI players strategy.
Let's say you replace "hills" map type by a copy of "small islands", you'll get AI players that don't even build a dock.
If you try this solution, make sure to overwrite map definitions by "similar" a similar map type (regarding the amount of water/land on the map)
Another side effects : I know that "hills" map has something hardcoded about the amount of hills on the map (which will be still active if you change the "hills" map definition in AGE3). But you can customize this with rocknror if needed.
Honestly I looks to me that the best solution is... you just choose randomly a map type that suits you when you start a gave (roll a dice or whatever, until you get an "acceptable" map type ;=)
