Hello everyone,,

I know this controversial to some players because of how the mechanic made it unequal in online multiplayer. However, If you are a fan of Age of Empires 3 like myself, then I think a similar approach can be taken in Age 4 that can also be made in a way that makes it much more equal gameplay-wise

My Idea: Reinforcements

Every Age you are limited to 2 "Reinforcement Cards" which can be brought back from the reaches of your empire/territory. (Similar to Home City)

These cards will mostly serve as last extra boosts to your army or production process in order to give you enough help to either defend or attack against an opponent.

Once you exhaust all 8 of your total cards (2 for each age), then you are finished.

Players can choose their set of cards when the game is loading and can see other players' cards before the game starts with the option to edit one's card.

All Cards will be unlocked during multiplayer (more cards would be made available during single player).

And what if you arent a fan of Age of Empires 3 .

Allright, I am probably being a bit too harsh. Anyway, personally, if there was a mechanic of Age of Empires 3 that I would wish to be recycled into Age of Empires 4, it was the politician systen, but with some major changes. Firstly: Obvious, instead of a "politician" systen, I would prefer a "Politics" systen. And secoundly, instead of it delivering "shipments", it would actually operate essentially as technologies. Like...

Well, imagine that, upon advancing up to the secound age, a civilization has a choice between one of two technologies: One that makes their infantry faster, and another that makes their cavalry tougher. But they cannot choose both.

If you play AOM

Your reinforcement cards are based on your choice of God going up. You get a Myth unit as reinforcement when you level up.

Your politician/technology card system is the same as the God selection in AOM.

I would basically use the AOM model for Age IV.
