| I was once playing a
game with six players. There were supposed to be no teams but
everyone was making alliances with their neigbors. I did so and
sealed the deal by promising resources and troops to defend them in
time of crisis. Soon one of my neigbors was getting pounded by a
horde of short swordsmen. I quickly sent a swarm of calvary(I was
Yamamoto) to wipe out the short swordsmen and torch some barracks and
houses of the attacker. I also killed a bunch of villagers so i
wasnt real worried. my ally thanked me profusely but refused to pay
me for the troops i lost defending him. It was a mistake. Angry at
having spent resources and troops on him i threatened to destroy his
town. he then paid me double what i had asked for. i looked at it
and realized that the guy i had attacked was trying to buy an
alliance with me! i took the bribe and presumed to sacking my former
allies town. with priests, catapults, hoplites and calvary i utterly
destroyed him. However he did pay me not knowing i was really trying
to kill him! With the extra supplies i got from the two of them i
went to iron. with my troops technologically advanced i went to war
with the two guys who were not my allies. After i had destroyed one
and cripled the other i turned on my original ally. He was no fool
though and was well prepared. My casualties were heavy and his
werent but i besieged him and gradually choked off his supplies. my
new ally was busy mopping up the criple when he attacked my base! i
was shocked. my base however was encircled by a wall and towers. my
enemy was beat off. with a large number of cataphracts i launched an
attack against his base. it was a success. his villagers had
chopped a hole through a forest and i walked right in. he still had
a bunch of legions though and i paid a high price destroying him. as
i was hunting down his fleeing villagers and wiping out pockets of
resistance, the other guy broke out of my ring of towers and walls.
my losses in centurions and catapults was heavy. the guy also
released a horde of horse archers and a couple of villagers into the
map. i forced him back into the ring but the horse archers
continually harassed my gold, wood and stone vills. then catapults
started coming out of nowhere. i was spending tons of resources
trying to wipe out the horse archers and catapults. i finally did
but only after he had made me lose close to thirty villagers. i
finally began to tighten the noose around his neck when he effected
another break out! i was sick of hunting fast horsearchers so i went
and launched a full scale assault on my enemies fortress throught the
place where the horse archers had left. it was a strategice blunder
on his part. my cataphracts ran amok through his farmers and
massacered them by the dozen. my centurions and stone throwers
smashed his towers and i won the game. it would have ended sooner
had i kept my alliances |
