Mountain Temple

Campaign Walkthroughs

Mountain Temple

This scenario starts off with a bang, unfortunately, you’re on the receiving end. You can’t take your time in going after your enemy here, you need to jump on building a few Houses, then a Barracks, and start cranking out Clubmen. Don’t wait to go to Tool Age and get Axemen, pump out six or eight Clubmen fast.
Also produce a few more Villagers, and set them to foraging the Berry Bushes and hunting Gazelle. Use the Food to produce Clubmen, and as you get a group of eight or so, move out to the East and kill anything that moves.
Your goal here is to overwhelm the Yellow town to the East of you, since they have the resources you’ll need. Keep killing and producing Clubmen until you have them knocked down, then take out all their Houses so they can’t build any more. As you take them out, send a few Villagers East as well, and build a Granary next to their Berry Bushes and start harvesting. Build a Storage Pit and also start chopping Wood and Mining Gold.
When you’ve got the Yellow enemy under control, start watching for landings of Brown Composite Bowmen. They’ll come on you quick and they’re hard to kill at your stage, plus they can devastate your armies quickly. Build a Dock to the North of your Town Center and build one Fishing Boat. There’s only one source of fish in the river, and it’s almost next to your new Dock, so fish it. You’ll get Brown Warships coming around and either sinking your Fishing Boat or attacking your Dock, hope for the latter. Put a Villager on repair duty and keep them up, when you get 500 Food go to Tool.
Once you’re in Tool Age, build Scout Ships, you’ll need a half dozen or more. Stay to the South edge of the river to avoid the Red Towers, and hunt down and sink any Brown Transports, then take on their Warships. Eventually you’ll be able to move all the way East and take out their Dock, then hang around and take out any Composite Bowmen and Villagers you see.
If you’ve managed to stunt the growth of the Yellow forces and keep back the Brown forces, you can build two Transports and take your Clubmen East and land on the Brown end of the map. You’ll face heavy casualties from the Composite Bowmen, use your fleet to keep them down to a minimum and to take on the Towers that are being built. If you can get a foothold and take out Villagers and Houses, you may be able to salvage the resources on the Brown edge of the map, which are considerable. You’ll need the Gold and Food there if you can get it.
At any rate, build a Market and Stable, being Yamato you’ll want to take advantage of the Heavy Cavalry eventually be able build. Don’t bother upgrading your Clubmen or Barracks, won using it, but keep up on upgrades for missile defense Stable Unit defenses in Storage Pit. mining Gold when Berry Bushes are gone few Farms.
When you get the Brown under control or eliminated, take a few Villagers and transport them Northwest to the island there. Use your fleet to take out the Alligators before landing, and send your Villagers inland to build a Storage Pit. You’ll find Gazelle to hunt and Gold, as well as plenty of Wood, so go for it and don’t let up.
Your goal at this point is to go Tool Age and build a Siege Workshop. it in the Brown’s former territory, from here you can reach few of Red Towers’ll want take out sooner or later. only get Stone Throwers, so Government Center as soon keep upgrading missile weapon bonuses, both there Market. producing Cavalry when research Heavy immediately.
Build up your Heavy Cavalry and Stone Throwers, you’ll want 10-15 Heavy Cavalry and maybe three or four Stone Throwers. Group the Heavy Cavalry into two groups, and the Stone Throwers into one, and load them in Transports. Research Triremes at the Dock and use whatever remains of your fleet to take on the Towers at the Northwest end of the river. You want to take both Towers out so you can land your forces, and also train your fleet attacks on any units foolish enough to come close to the coast. You’ll eventually lose the Triremes to the Towers along the coast, so get as many enemy units as you can.
Land your Stone Throwers and one group of Heavy Cavalry move Eastward along the river. Use to take out Towers, with range bonuses you’ve researched should be able hit them when they can’t you. Watch for enemy Composite Bowmen Catapults, play havoc need save them.
The enemy area is tiered, so clear out each tier before moving on. Use the Heavy Cavalry to close on the enemy Catapults and Ballistas, and eventually Priests, and the Stone Throwers to take out all the Towers. You’ll lose your Heavy Cavalry eventually to Composite Bowmen, so land your reserve group and take over the same task. Build more as reserves for as long as you have the resources.
Move to the second tier and take out the defenses there, then move up the path to the North and take on the Towers, Composite Bowmen and Priests. Hit them hard and don’t let up, you want to level all the defenses. Transport some Villagers over, make sure you have several so a wandering Composite Bowman you missed won’t take them out, and once you’ve destroyed the enemy Temple build yours in its place for the win.
