This is a Tool Age scenario in which your just some poor slob that just moved out of the city to the country. You soon find out that your new neighbors are a bunch of A-holes to say the least. So begins some family feuds between you and your neighbors. The story is rather funny, but don't let that fool you into thinking this will be a cakewalk scenario. This has proven to be a VERY hard one to win.You can't allow yourself to be distracted for even a minute when you play. The action is almost non-stop and the tide can turn very quickly if your not careful. The victory conditions are simple enough, capture 3 ruins and break your brother-in-law Hero Jason out of jail and return him to your town center. Easy right ? The farthest I have gotten in this one so far was 3 hours,43 mins., defeated player #4 and had 1145 kills and 813 losses before I lost. So if you feel your a good player give this one a shot. If you can beat this one take a screen shot showing your victorius and e-mail it to me.I'll send you a prize or something. No cheating though. Oh yeah, the intro movie is you and your neighbor sharing a little of that yummy berry pie your wife baked for ya. Pusbucket P.S. Be sure to copy the included .avi file into the AVI directory for AoE thats why the file is so big. Sorry |

This campaign really was something! It may look at first like a simple B&D, but with the custom AI's and setting you really have think this out. It was great fun trying to figure out the best way to capture each ruin. Not only that, but defeating each enemy took careful planning and a strategy must be devised for each one. However... The tool age setting makes things tedious... It adds to the strategy and all, but it still quite annoying. Buildings take a while to bring down and the orange priests are very irritating. Not to mention moving about was the worst... Even with transports, getting your axemen and archers from place to place when stuck between choke points is difficult. Also, towards the end it gets a bit tedious... Particulary saving Jason from jail. Overall it plays in a very enhanced RM style, as the AIs work nearly PERFECT. Score could have been raised if you made a few small changes.
Balance: 4.5
This was one strong point of the scenairo. The author claims the scenairo is next to impossible, but if you think carefully, you really can beat this! I know I did. Playing this, you need to be VERY quick on your feet, particularly at the begining. You have to choose the right player to attack first, and the right path to it as well. Not only that, but you need to know when to stop and then move on to the next enemy. If the player playing this does not make the right steps from the begining, they'll be blown over once the build-up starts. You really had to use your head and think your way through each enemy, choosing the right units, the right path, as well as the right time. The balance here was nearly perfect. The only issue here was the begining... If the right steps aren't taken, your game is most likely history. It still is an excellent challenge.
Creativity: 3.8
The story really bumped this one up. The whole neighbor's problem really added to this... I've never seen a setting like it! The gameplay was fairly creative, much like a very enhanced RM game, with various changes. The map was not creative... A modified random map. No design tricks here. It's an old scenairo... Oh well. The creativity here was still good... The story in particular.
Map Design: 3.1
This was nothing special. A random map with a few enhancements to raise the score... All I saw here were the ruin "forts", desert roads, and a cheesy county jail. Nuff said. Not to mention a bitmap is included.
Story/Instructions: 5
One of the most amusing and entertaining storylines I have ever seen! To be honest I dont want to give anything away... You can find out for yourself. *An opening and ending cinematic is included aswell.
Additional Comments: I'd highly reccomend on downloading this, you really won't be dissapointed. Even if its not what you would expect, the story is sure to entertain you![Edited on 04/29/07 @ 04:23 PM]
