This scenario depicts the Spartans' stand against Xerxes at the Thermopylae in 480 BC. I know it is not 100% historically accurate, but I hope you enjoy playing it anyway...Please give me some feedback on this scenario, I already have some ideas for follow-ups. Multiplayer also : No
Overall above-average scenario. Nice bitmap and terrain map of Greece and Aegean coast of Turkey. Fine history, instuctions and hints. Balance off a bit. Neither enemy army is very strong or aggressive, although Xerxes' navy puts up a fair fight. You can't build docks or temples, but you get one dock and can find one priest. I never had to fight the battle of Thermopylae; I hunkered down in the Peloponessus, built a navy (couple transports, couple fishers, 9-10 galleys) at my dock near Athens, and destroyed the Persians essentially with shore bombardment - including Xerxes (the Victory Condition), who tackled my fleet in a shallows and died in a hail of War Galley arrows. I did bypass Thermopylae with a land force (just the opposite of what happened to the real Leonidas and his boys), both as a "Second Front" to my sea assault and to take out some Persian stone throwers and the traitorous Ephialtes. Worth a try; if the Athenians or Persians destroy your dock, I'll bet this is a tough one.
