This level is a siege which pits you against a horde of enemies in an attempt to not only thwart their attack but counter and smash them. Accompanied by a witty storyline and good level design, this should provide hours of entertainment. Multiplayer also : No
This started out with a massive three pronged assault on my fortress city, which I usually don't enjoy. But after beating off the initial assault it devolved into a series of raids using my favorite unit, cavalry archers, sweeping across a broad field of battle to outmaneuver and decimate enemy forces until there were none left, one of my favorite types of battle.
After the initial assault the enemy laid back in stunned disbelief, too wary of my forces to launch any more significant attacks. He did put up some stiff resistance to my initial raids on his encampment.
This is a standard theme but quite well implemented.
Map Design: 3.5
The map was either a Random Map severely reworked or made from scratch. My fortress city was marvelous, I spent 20 minutes just learning to find my way around its broad boulevards with endless blocks of houses and other buildings. I was up on a plateau surrounded by cliffs, with walls and towers on the cliff, an inner keep, and even some outer walls. I had farmers outside the wall and a whole city full of villies working on various tasks, and a small armed force.
The broad plain in the middle allowed for plenty of space for cavalry maneuvers which I enjoyed. There were plenty of resources available once I managed to secure more and more of the central contested area of the map.
Plenty of each and all creatively written
If you like starting with a secure clifftop fortress city and then attacking with any of your favorite units across a wide field of battle, this would be a highly recommended download.
