As commander of the Persian army under King Cyrus the Great, you must conquer the city of Babylon and enter the Temple of Marduk (Tower of Babel). You will discover the wonders of the ancient city, among them the famous double walls of the city described by Herodotus and the Hanging Gardens (one of the 7 Wonders of the Ancient World). Attention was paid to creating the historic layout of the city (according to Herodotus and others) and the area around Babylon. A map is included and should be placed in the c:\ProgramFiles\Microsoft Games\Age of Empires\ directory. Multiplayer also : No
Playability Historic story with a good twist. I really looked forward to getting through this scenario. NB I missed Cyrus great strategy! Creativity Excellent idea and delivered with a minimum of distraction. Fortunately you could still win without having the military brilliance of Cyrus. I liked the artifact that you played red(not done to often). At one stage I came upon the blue civ and thought I'd found a bunch of Gaia stuff. Balance Good but let down a little by an odd civ (Blue) that just hung around and attacked at strange times and another tool age civ that was useless! The lack of gold makes for a real scrabble if you miss the key strategy (like I did) If you take too long the other civs will gobble it up! Map The Hanging gardens is nicely designed and the rest of the map serviceable. Instructions A good bitmap and generally good story and instructions. I was confused as to where in Babylon Cyrus was supposed to end up! (flagged areas are always a good idea because you end up destroying other landmarks) Overall : Well worth a download. Just to look at the hanging gardens and to check out what a brilliant general Cyrus was!
