Playability: 1
You start in the Stone Age with a very slow priest searching the map. It takes 10 minutes to walk the priest around exploring until you find the raft. Then when you put the raft in a safe place to put the new king in when you find him, you are suddenly Victorious! ?
Balance: 1
There's no conflict because the game ends prematurely.
Creativity: 2
The map and Victory Conditions showed some creativity, even if they had a fatal flaw.
Map Design: 2
The map was created from scratch and had several interesting features that could have made the game play better.
Story/Instructions: 1.5
No history, but good instructions and hints, if the game had been set up correctly.
Additional Comments:
This goes to show that when you're testing a game, if you do everything the way you're supposed to, and it works, that's only 10% of the testing. The other 90% of testing is when you do everything that a player could do wrong, and see what happens.
In this case, the player is supposed to rescue his captured son from far across the map, through hostile forces, and return him to a flagged area in a raft.
Unfortunately, the designer set the Victory Condition as Bring Object to Area, with the raft as the object. So as soon as I put the empty raft in the flagged area for safe-keeping, I won! And the son was still held captive far away.
