Silver Order -- The Final Conflict

Author File Description
File Details
Difficulty: ?
You, Amon Ra, and the once mighty Silver Empire, through decades of war and famine, have been forced back to your once humble beginnings and left you with very little. Several new empires have been rising and remembering your iron fisted rule, have allied together. You are now alone. You have no allies to protect you, and those previous allies you did have. Have either joined the new confederation, or have been destroyed. Your mighty empire has been forced back to your one small city on the banks of the wide but shallow Nile River. Here you have decided to make your last stand. Either defeat the overwhelming odds and beat back the invaders, or die honorable deaths on the field of battle. A scout you sent out recently has returned with bad news. A host of invaders are coming from all compass directions. The Minoans, Sumerians, Yamato, and the Assyrians are advancing by land from S, NW, SE, and W respectively. But they are not done. Greek ships have been sighted across the Nile in the north. At least three Greek tribes have come along in the raid. The odds are against you, you have no choice but to stay and fight. It is up to your skills as a warrior to either destroy the enemies, or die fighting. Note : The map is heavily forrested. Your town has been built in a clearing. Objectives : - survive the many attacks by enemy tribes - must destroy every government center on the map (except yours) - keep Amon Ra alive at all costs!! Multiplayer also : ???

This was a pretty good scenario featuring you against seven computer players, three across a river and four on the same side as you. All computer players were allied and the object was to destroy each player's Government Center. The players on the other side of the river were able to intermingle but on your side, each computer was seperated by long rows of trees so you wound up fighting seperate battles with each of them. Plenty of resources were scattered around the starting area so I was able to wall myself in and build in relative peace. I used my priest and navy advantage to take care of the civs across the river and turned my attention to the civs on my side. Each one required a somewhat different strategy to defeat since they were different civs and they protected their Gov Centers in different ways. When I finished off a Gov Center, I walled off the path to that civ and used my incredible priests to convert any attackers. I liked that the victory condition was the Gov Center instead of the usual conquest. However, this does take a long time to finish and I suggest playing in more than one day - it does get tedious if you try to finish all at once. Overall, I enjoyed the scenario but it lacked the flair of a truely outstanding one. The lack of cliffs and elevations caused me to give a very average map score even though I liked the layout.
