This is a historical campaign revolving around the overthrow of Etruscans by the Roman empire in it's early days. The Etruscans continually ask for gold and it must be payed or they will change their diplomatic stance towards you to enemy. Includes cinematics, custom AI, custom .PER, a custom scenario map, and detailed instructions. Enjoy! Multiplayer also : ???

This scenario was an excellent change of pace from the normal, run-of-the-mill, scenarios. I enjoyed the challenge of having enough gold to pay my taxes, although I hated paying them ;-) but then again, that's what makes this scenario fit the story. The downside of this scenario is that having enough gold to pay tribute was the ONLY challenge in the scenario, and once my trading got going, I had more than enough gold. So, it ended up being very easy since it's no problem to backstab a computer ally. I think a human would have noticed that I was arranging 10 stone throwers around his government center and wondered what I was up to! It was nice training for backstabbing an ally even though that is a practice I try not to embrace :^) Actually, this is the only scenario in the entire Granary where the computer demands tribute so I give excellent marks to his ai and per file manipulation but the playability score is only a 4 since I didn't feel it was challenging enough. An enemy player somewhere on the map would have been a nice addition or if siege weapons were disabled, the challenge would have been more significant. The map was arranged so that resources were available but not plentiful and the city was nice but it didn't have any sparkle to it. There were no shore fish either, which bugged me. I give the map a 2 since it served its purpose for gameplay but otherwise, it was very plain and showed little creativity. Nice job overall.
