Playability- 3 This is an ok campaign. You had a large range of selection for army. You didn't have to do a lot of economy, you were given 500 of each resource in most of the scenarios. The scenarios weren't too hard. Creativity- 3 It could have used some work on the creativity side. The scenarios were way to easy, and that was because, I think, the author did not put much thought into the personality and AI or the computer. It did have a different idea than most of the campaigns that I have reviewed. Balance- 2 The scenarios in this campaign were FAR too easy. There was little difficulty completing the tasks. The enemy was usually well gaurded, but there were enough units around that you could find off in the fog that it was easy to destroy the enemy without having to make many of your own units. It was fairly easy to do, but I did lose a good number of my men in doing so, therefore this recieved a 2. Map Design- 3 There was nice use of water and elevation on these maps. Also, resource placement was nicely done too. But there was no use of cliffs or waterfalls, so the campaign receives a 3 in this catagory. Story and Instructions- 3 The story was ok but it could have been more descriptive. The instructions were also according, but too, could have used more description. |

Another campaign with a nice storyline behind it. I think this is an often overlooked aspect of campaign design. If your scenarios do not follow a logical progression, then why do a campaign? You might as well do a half dozen separate scenarios. Thankfully, the quest for the Ark unfolds nicely, and even manages to avoid Indy Jones references. :-)The weak link in this campaign is the scenario in the middle where you must destroy the towers guarding enemy territory (which you invade in the next scenario.) This scenario seemed strangely simple compared with the others in the campaign. Perhaps the author intended to give us a break during the journey, but it seemed out of place next to the other scenarios.Overall, I would try other scenarios by this author, and hope to see his later attempts. |

Style: Fictional
Scenarios: 5
Playability: 2
There wasn't much to this campaign, and was quite dull in places.
Balance: 2
Most scenarios were winnable in a few minutes. No real challenge, and when facing slightly larger enemies you had more than enough gaia units around the map.
Creativity: 2
Nothing special, the instructions promised so much more than big maps with only small skirmishes in one location.
Map Design: 1
Mostly appears to be randomly generated maps. No real effort and some gaia units were killed before you could reach them (lions!).
Story/Instructions: 2
No history, weak storyline and plenty of spelling mistakes. Objectives and hints were adequate.
Additional Comments:
Not worth downloading. Lack of effort and each scenario is too easy. |
