The storyline picks up after my Persian Wars #2. In that mini-campaign, I told the story of Miltiades, the general who led Athens to victory at Marathon."To The Sea" re-enacts the struggle between Themistocles of Athens and King Leonidas of Sparta. Each sought to lead the Greek Alliance that was formed to fight Xerxes in 480 B.C. My goal was to tell the story of two great men in conflict -- and the battles they fought. Who was the better leader? You decide. The maps, the characters, and the events are all historically accurate.
Gordon Farrell delivers again. Another top line installment in the Persian War campaigns. I must admit that one of the scenarios was too tough for me to complete (The Battle at Thermopylae) I am going to try it again though on easy level and see if those damn Persian Cataphracts give me time to maneuver. Gordon's poetic instructions give you real feeling for your men and a great sense of disappointment if you fail.
