THE STORY The King's weak-minded son has fallen in with a band of manipulative bandits. Two trusted but expendable advisors have been sent to recapture the Prince and raze the hidden bandit camp. GOALS - Destroy the bandit's hidden base. - Deliver the Prince to the deep water port in the north. SETTING UP This is a multiplayer scenario for two human players and four computer players. To ensure an appropriate tech tree, both human players and their King, player 5, should lead Choson civilizations. To install this scenario, simply place "The Wayward Prince.scn" into your AOE scenario folder. Remember to read the scenario instructions from within the game for hints and a description of the Prince. Singleplayer also : no ;
This is a two player scenario with a wonderful sense of creativity and a good victory condition. Each player begins in a nomad start on a map with 3 computer allies and 1 computer enemy. Your object is to destroy the enemy computer's base and return the kidnapped prince to the king's ship. The prince rides and elephant and really is the factor that decides the winner because the player that controls the elephant when it is returned to the king is the winner even if the other player destroys the enemy base. Of course, if the elephant is destroyed, the computer wins. There is a lot of opportunity for very strategic gameplay in this scenario. The ally computers don't fight for you and they are stuck in the Stone Age but they have lots of convertable villagers to boost your economy. The map is designed to have the economy occur on the sides of the map with all the fighting in the middle. This is a great diversion from the normal multiplayer game and it is designed and implemented very well. Great job!
