This file contains the Dawn of Civilization campaign file plus all the necessary .ai and .per files that every scenario used in the original beta.
There is already a fixed version by Romanos_V, that supposedly allows the campaign to run under the RoR 1.0a patch; the issue is that version uses standard AI files that do not match the behaviour of the beta.
In this package you will find every single AI file, so every scenario plays like it used to. Yes, even the infamous Last Stand, with the endless priest spam. :)
Can't comment on this particular file this thread is for, at this time at least, but this user was wondering if anyone could help this user play AOE (1 and its Expansion) after spending two days downloading and trying to install this (old-games takes forever for anything compared to gametrex, but gametrex doesn't have a non-torrent download for everything).
Downloaded BOTH 'Gold Edition' zipped files on old-games under 'AOE' and after spending two full days doing so, an EMPTY error message with a red-'X' pops up when trying to click on and run the applications for AOE and its expansion.
What gives?
How does one 'install' -- or, if there's no 'installation', just extract and play -- how does one play these?
There's some 'RDT' file that doesn't do anything/isn't recognized by anything, and is listed as a 'nfo' (no-'i') file.
Does that mean anything?
