Acknowledgements: I made it with the ROR HD "U Patch" and with Chab's ROCKNROR Scenario design Mod. I used the city of Ctesiphon from the official ROR "Ctesiphon" scenario for that same city in my fourth scenario, but otherwise my fourth scenario is generally my own work.

DESCRIPTION

Part I of the Christian Story Campaign has five scenarios and includes the events of Holy Week in Jerusalem and Christianity's spread to Rome and Taxila. Taxila was the capitol of the Indo-Parthian empire in what are today Pakistan and northern India.

The fourth scenario is Abgar V's Mesopotamian campaign. Some traditions say that the 1st century King Abgar V of Edessa was a 1st century Christian, whereas some modern scholars theorize that these traditions confuse Abgar V with the last 2nd century King Abgar VIII. There is much more solid evidence that Abgar VIII was a Christian. In their Mesopotamian Campaign, Abgar V and the Mesopotamian ruler Carenes tried to replace the Parthian King Gotarzes II with the young Parthian noble Meherdates. They captured Nineveh but Meherdates defeated them in a battle that was probably near Mt. Behistun.

In the fifth scenario, you guide Christians in Rome as they fight gladiators and beasts in Nero's circuses during Nero's persecution. The Christians also convert spectators and the soldiers persecuting them. Nero's persecution occurred in the aftermath of Rome's fire, so the scenario unfolds in the midst of Rome's burnt ruins. In the opening phase of the scenario there are still some burning embers flying.

In these Scenarios, your Player's color is Yellow.

7. Josephus Retakes Tiberias (66 AD)
8. Nero's Killing (68 AD)
9. Domitian's Persecution (93-96 AD)
10. Domitian's Killing (96 AD)
11. Journey to Edessa (177-212 AD)

I have submitted the campaign's "Part I" as a collection of the first several scenarios because I want to check whether Players can unlock the later scenarios in the campaign when they beat the first scenario. One commentator on my "Drusus and Tiberius, Version 2" campaign complained that the second scenario in that campaign did not unlock when he beat the first scenario. I am including backup stand-alone scenario files in case you can't get the campaign file to unlock the scenarios.

INSTALLATION

Put the .CPX Campaign File into your computer's AOE folder's "Campaign" subfolder. The other files in the Zip are informational or backup scenario files. If you beat a scenario in the campaign, and the next scenario doesn't unlock so that you can play it, then put the Zip file's scenarios in your AOE folder's "scenario" subfolder.

GAMEPLAY NOTES:

- AOE's default Human Player color is Blue. Since you are the Yellow Player in this campaign, however, it causes a slight flaw - the Unit Menu in the lower left corner of the screen shuffles the names of Players 1-3. So when you select a unit belonging to Players 1-3, the unit icon and its color are shown correctly, but the name of the Player owning the unit is mistakenly switched with one of those other two Players. In the Editor, I could only partially remedy this by putting Player 3's name to match Player 2's. So if you select a unit, rely on the unit's color before its unit name when trying to identify the unit's owner.
