Mission Name: The Apostle Thomas' Mission to Indo-Parthia
Mission Designer: Rakovsky
Scenario Version: 3.0
Rise of Rome or AOE: Both
Single Player or Multiplayer: Single Player
If you have AOE:ROR or AOE:DE, move the .SCX file "Thomas' Mission to Indo-Parthia.scx" into your scenario folder.
If you do not have AOE:ROR and have only the original 1997 AOE1 or a patched version like AOE1 1.0c, then put the .SCN file "Thomas_Mission_to_Indo-Parthia_AOE1.scn" into your AOE folder's scenario subfolder.
These two scenario files are the same except they are in different formats depending on your Game Version. I originally made it with AOE:ROR in mind, but either should work.
This mission is fun for a good player on the Hardest setting because the Kushans present a challenge by heading straight for Sirkap, where you have to protect the Government Center. The Easiest Difficulty can make things too simple because it slows the attackers enough that you can practically stick with your basic objectives like growing your population. So I recommend using the Moderate to Hardest settings because helping to defend the ford or the capitol is fun.
I playtested the game and liked it a lot, especially defending the capitol while meeting other objectives.
In Versions 2-3, I clarified in the directions that you need to convert the Orange Barracks to win, and I made killing the King Crocodile a Victory Condition. I also added in Caspar the Magus (Gaia rider unit) who you can find to join you.
The scenario is part of a Series that I made about early Christianity that can be found in the Heaven Games Granary:
I thought that the Macedonians might have been a better Civ than Greek for Player 4 because they are the Hellenistic descendants of the Macedonians... But the Macedonians have a special bonus that makes them 4 times harder to convert.
