The Tai Gun are a fictional Chinese tribe who started from humble beginnings as fishermen in the swamps. After years of hard work and successful trading, the influence of the Tai Gun has grown, and new settlements have been founded across the country. This has unfortunately raised the suspicion of the mighty Shang rulers, who do not tolerate anyone who becomes too influential. After several small attacks, the Shang have now sent the Tai Gun a clear message: "From the mud you came, and in the mud you will die."
Can you save the Tai Gun from annihilation, or will your failure be the reason they never made it into the history books? Defend your village in alligator-infested swamps, outsmart assassins in a luxurious temple park, infiltrate an enemy town for a dangerous prison escape mission, pray that the gods accept a sacrifice in the hour of need, face the Shang's most feared general and finally encounter the Shang Emperor himself.

I first published The Tai Gun for RoR in 1998. This 20th anniversary version has been updated to run with AoE:DE, and includes some new map design features (e.g. a new type of hedges, rocky bridges, overlapping buildings etc.). This campaign is designed to be tough, but winnable. If you are good at micromanagement, if you like fixed force mixed with a few build & destroy elements, this may be the right campaign for you.
