Playability: 3. We start in Tool with 1000 each, so quick Bronze. Then we are left totally undisturbed on our own island to gather resources at our leisure. Later we will launch our naval assault, first on P3's little fortress island if we feel like it, and later against P2's larger fortified island. Quite relaxing, no time pressure and plenty of resources. Very fun shootin match between triremes, cataremes vs enemy towers, cats and archers on the small island.
Balance: 2. Very undisturbed at first. Some stiff resistance from P3's fortified island but basically my cataremes have the towers outranged and I can beat the cats by Shoot n Scoot. Later I sent just a few villies ashore on the main island (after an extensive shore bombardment), a few cav arch, a priest, and a single cat and wiped out the main enemy with minimal troops. Mainly because of my combat engineer villies and my unlimited supply of stone from various islands all around the map.
Creativity: 3. Nicely different setup from usual random map.
Map: 3. Not random, nice island fortress for P2.
History: 2.5. Fairly extensive in each category.
Comments: This could have been a 4.0 scenario if the designer had taken advantage of his setup on P3's island. I lit up the three Gaia troops with my catareme line of sight and they were wiped out. But this had no effect on the victory conditions. The designer could have followed the example of Monkey Island and set up a hostage rescue situation where you have to get the three troops from the fort to somewhere else alive, this would have been very difficult and required much finesse. I started with about 4 tame lions but I didn't use them for anything, just kept them safe in a corner pocket as pets.
Recommended for download just to take out P3 island with shoot n scoot naval bombardment. P2 island is fairly routine.
