The next version is still under construction, but for those who didn't playtest, the playtest version is now available to everybody.
Experience is that people didn't read the information properly. It's important to read 'Age of Italy Mod v1.1.txt' especially the limitations part.
One extra limitation I had forgotten: Don't use full tech tree (never).
And the playtest parts of the text files are no longer relevant.
1 Download the file.
2 Open the "Installation instructions.txt"
3 Follow the instructions in the textfile
4 Read "Age of Italy Mod v1.1.txt" it contains info about what is and what isn't possible in this version
5 Have fun

It's already in the instruction text file, but the install and uninstall batch files only work if the 'AoImod' folder is in the exact correct location, with the proper name. So it should be in the installation folder of age of empire the rise of rome and must be named AoImod.
The batchfile searches your registry for the aoe installation folder automatically. It's a very fast and easy file switch that should work on all windows computers. It probably doesn't work on other Operating systems than windows. If it doesn't work on your windows pc, please inform me on the site, on the aoeh forum or per mail with the specific info of your computer's OS.
If the batchfile doesn't work, you can manually back up the files that will be replaced yourself. You will need to manually back up the standard per files, the standard deathmatch ai files (not the water ai files), empires.dat, graphics.drs and interfac.drs from data2 and both language.dll files from the main installation folder. Then copy and overwrite (after the back-up!) the AoImod files to the correct location and play.
