This is a trick showcase combining the fact that zapdotep's Composite Editor lets you place cliffs however you want, and that stuff is moved up or down depending on its elevation. If you want to see how it works, change all elevations to the same thing in the scenario editor.
This trick works on the principle described under "Overlapping buildings - The original way" at:
MrCheeze! Woot. I'll definitely download this and try it out.
Edit: It's amazing! If you could make units slow down significantly while climbing down the cliff, it would be more realistic. I can already see this being used all over the place. Good job!

I was going to use this for my campaign as something "new" but now it isn't that "new" anymore :(
But I got more surprises in my new campaing than the walkable cliffs

Use it anyways, just because it isn't a surprise doesn't mean it's not a nice map design element.

I knew I wasn't likely to make a scenario myself so I figured I may as well at least be the first to use it.

Lol, sniper mentality.^
I may not be the one to kill them, but I'll shoot them first.

I will use it for sure but I still have some more stuffs I think nobody else has done (

I knew this was possible, but this is the first time I saw it in action - it's a great twist on one of my old tricks. It became pretty much obsolete because of the new ehanced editors, untill now that is :) Don't worry about credit or anything, this trick is all yours of course.
