Hello! =)
I've been checking this forum for a while now, and i got a lot of good scenarios out of it, so i reckon its time to offer something back.
Well, this is the first scenario i post, so i hope you people can help me out, pointing out if there is somethng that should be corrected, or something like that!
basically it would be the palestine region/land of Canaan, and it includes what would nowdays is Israel, the territories, the east bank of the jordan river, southern lebanon and a piece of syria. I mostly concentrated on the landscape so the resources may not be that well placed, although i made a try.
There are no artifacts
The Desert maybee a little harsh to start on.
So enjoy!(if it is enjoyable)
PD: I also made a blank template, it has a bit of grass since i accidentaly saved over it, i can post it too if someone wants it. |

Playability: 4
The whole map was great, a huge map offering a lot of different strategies. The map could keep someone playing for hours until he wants to stop or win.
Balance: 3.3
The bad part about the game was that it was almost impossible for me to gather food and wood in the desert part. I advise you to re-edit the desert parts.

I really liked the way you used a lot of elevations in this map. Mixing rocky with grass and desert was a great idea. Excellent job on that part.
Map Design: 4
As I said before, you barely included wood and food in the desert part. But when I check my atlas, you were dead on accurate on everything you mapped.
Additional Comments:
Great job, I would recommend a 4.3 out of 5.0, I advise you to re-edit the map, balancing it more...

Gold and other resources are in decent quantity, and are scattered. I didn't come across any glitches stopping gameplay.
Balance: 3
The Sinai desert is really big and takes up the western third of the map and is pretty empty as far as trees and berries. This makes it hard for anyone who starts there.
It would be better if the cities' normal starting points had berries nearby, like in the middle where Jerusalem historically was. It's hard well to grow without them nearby. As it is right now, some starting places have berries like the far left area (eg. near Rafah and Gaza), and some don't (eg. where Jerusalem should be.
I beat the map playing against DisAmigo and the 6 EASY AIs on Game Ranger by capturing all ruins. I began in the western corner and he and I both complained that there were no berries or other food resources starting by our bases. Maybe there were food resources closer to his. He commented that the map design was not fair due to the lack of berries near the starting locations. The starting locations are not fixed either, so someone can start in an area with no food resources.

I think that this map was very creative, since it had lots of decorations and it was a creative idea to match the historical region.
Map Design: 4
A nice feature is that it contains ruins that you can capture.
The map is rotated 90 degrees so that the north side is put on the east. I think it would be better if the north side was on the top.
The map comes with no players already placed. I think that it would be better if it had the players historically native to the region already placed on the map, because otherwise you can end up with a situation where any of the civilizations in the game ends up on any part of the map, like having the Chinese start in the Sinai or the Egyptians start on the opposite side from Egypt. On the other hand, "Real Maps" seem usually just made based on geography, since they are not scenarios, so the lack of starting spots already made is not a big criticism by me.
Story/Instructions: 4.5
I think that more could be added to the Story screens, like an overview Story Bitmap and Hints.
Additional Comments:
It is a Huge map, considered the ideal size for 6 players. [Edited on 09/23/20 @ 02:53 PM]
