Follow the struggles of a cat trying to maintain an empire, explore different environments, ranging from arid mountains to tropical rain forests, and discover the most philosophical creature that ever existed... The Cat!
Updated: Sorry for this, I was a little rushed so I got the wrong version of scenario 3 in the campaign. I've also fixed a few problems about a black square next to the Gootie, Please Re-download! :P
Update 2: This fixes some bugs in scenarios 5, 6 and 8, while also improving the map design a little in some places. Also fixes shadows in bitmap 6 and adds some stuff to te history section. |

Fruktfisk, I will tell you of the bugs I found in this review, if you fix them, let me know and I'll adjust the rating.
Playability: 4.5
This is where most of your bugs were, some of the victory conditions were wrong and things became a little confusing at times. In the last scenario I simply won after converting the barracks and a large number of units. Often the instructions are different from the VC's, I suggest you go back and check them all to make sure they work. On a lighter note, I loved sending my men over the mountain pass in the sixth scenario, only to be killed by grey. Unfortunately I angered some of my allies in my unstoppable quest for gold. (It wasn't worth it) ;)
Balance: 5
I really enjoyed playing this because the balance was great, it fit my skill level perfectly and gave me the greatest possible challenge without being unbeatable. I encountered many situations where I had to think and invent new strategies to beat an area. You got lucky here because balance is subjective to the reviewer, and the balance was perfect for me, some parts may be too hard for some people.
Creativity: 4.9
A campaign about a cat, what more do you want? I like cats, but I also like puzzles that are built into a scenario that don't actually make it a puzzle scenario. You pulled this off quite well, I think. The puzzles were mostly original and not too hard to figure out but I had to use my head and I really liked that. The story was creative and the details made it feel more realistic. I loved going into the history section and reading about the world you introduced. However the last one felt a bit boring, and the first two share almost the exact same map.
Map Design: 4
Gorgeous in some places, bare in others, but the overall design is very good. I really liked the feel of the first scenario, it was very green and 'jungley'. The third scenario I think deserves a 6.0 by itself. The only thing I can tell you is, "Fill in the empty spaces!"
Story/Instructions: 4
Honestly I was a little confused by the story, it was good and I'm impressed by how much you wrote, but it seems to get a little muddled in places. Also changing the font made it hard to read things. As mentioned above, the objectives didn't always match the VC's, you did not state that player 4 needs to be entirely destroyed before you can kill player 5 before you can kill the Bläck Lord in the sixth scn. There are some other small instances as well. You should go proof them and resubmit this.
Additional Comments:
Very good, I really enjoyed this campaign like I haven't enjoyed one in a long time. I'm also very impressed with the number of scenarios in this campaign, you put in loads of work and if you can fix the bugs I will happily give you a higher rating. I highly recommend this to any player looking for a good challenge. (I won't tell you all the ways I found to win it the wrong way, I think that made it even more fun, I still played it the right way as well just for fun.) Did I mention that this is Fruktfisk's first upload? A great first effort!
All of you, pay your respects to the Gootie![Edited on 10/13/08 @ 08:18 PM]
