LIONS OF KHAROUN
Jason pulled back the flap, and exited from his humble tent. Gathering up his walking cane and tattered priest's rags, he prepared himself for the task that lay ahead. The spirals of black smoke rising from the not distant temples served as a stark reminder of the price of failure.
For Jason, despite his current appearance, is not a visiting priest. He has been ordered by his excellency King Darius himself to retrieve the book of the Prophet from Kharoun's library. Jason smiles grimly, he relishes a challenge, but this task will not be simple. His men have been left at the border, lest they arouse suspicion. His sword likewise. He approaches the walled city state of Kharoun with caution, unarmed and defenceless. If only he could find himself an ally, his work might be made a little easier...
This is my first, and quite possibly last, AoE scenario. So forgive me the faults you may encounter. Due to my extreme lack of skill, this scenario is for the most part a puzzle. But that is not to say there won't be deaths and peril. I hope you enjoy this little offering, all comments and reviews will be warmly appreciated. |

Playability: 4.6
You will enjoy playing this scenario, but there are two problems that brought this score down a little. You cannot save your progress because of the missles that have been placed, so if you stuff up you have to start from the start. The other problem is (this occured to me many times) that I randomly lose. I don't know what that's all about, perhaps I did something I wasn't supposed to...
Balance: 4.5
The balance was great. The thing that makes it hard is the little puzzles you must overcome to move on. However, knowing how to complete each puzzle made the scenario much easier.
Creativity: 5
This is where the scenario really stood out. I can't recall many scenarios or campaigns that were made like this. The objectives were interesting and kept you into it.
Map Design: 5
This is another part where it excelled. The map is beautiful. Every part you explore gives you a true, natural feeling. It truely is a good job and would have taken a long time.
Story/Instructions: 4.8
The story was rather long, but it was good. The only setback was that, since I kept randomly lossing, I couldn't find the reason why. Other than that, it was top-notch
Additional Comments:
This is a awesome scenario. I highly recommend you download it. Even if you win you'll still want to play it over and over. |
