Oh, I think it might be worth adding, you might want to know, that you can 'amorphisise' your AOE scenarios into AOK; just put an AOE scenario file into the AOK scenario folder and it will convert the units. Only, sometimes units can turn out as catapults and whatnot, so it doesn't always work out.
Note: Doesn't apply to Campaigns. Unless you put the scenarios into the AOK scenario folder and then convert it into a campaign on AOK.
Incase you don't look, I posted another message in Qin Dynasty 1.

Oh, sorry I took so long to reply; internet has been acting up lately.
I don't know if you'll get this message but if you would like I will give you my hotmail address: Jordan99259@hotmail.com, so that you can send me your scenario(s) and i'll see what i can do about it.
If you want, add me to your MSN - assuming you have a username - and send me the file.
If you DON'T have MSN, then add me to Xfire - assuming you have it, again; my username is the same, I believe; if that doesn't avail, try Rigor Mortis.
See you on MSN - or Xfire. =). |

Read the whole of the first cpn and I'm not sure if you fixed the bitmap problem or not but if you haven't I have a possible answer. If your text is all in black then it will not show up in the game. You need to change anything you want to be black in the game to a very dark colour that is not black. Hope this helps. ;) |

Ok, I've played this campaign and now let's see what I think of it.
Playability.
Let's get straight to the point: This campaign is EASY. I'd beat the campaign with a hand on my back. The hardest in my opinion was the one with the artifacts, but that wasn't difficult to complete. But there weren't any bugs that could ruin your level. Also the last level was on I liked. There was a difficult choice: Should I destroy the wall myself and rush the enemy, or should I wait till they attack? The maps were also likely to play again, but not all. But you need more for your next levels. Try doing more triggers in your levels, creating original objects.
Balance.
As I said, this campaign is easy. Too easy. And that while I'm not a star player although this makes it good for beginners. The first scenario was easy. You in bronze against them in stone. There are slingers all over the place, which are really helpful. In other words, your next campaign needs to be harder.
Creativity.
Hmm, hard to say. Also the most maps had reasonable and/or only one (standard) objectives although the one with as objective killing priests was quite original I must say.
Map Design.
The maps were too simple designed. The most looked like random maps. Like the one with the artifact, really a random map. Also the one with the building of the great wall was strange. It seemed as if the whole center was just grassified.
Story/instructions.
The instructions were very clear. I couldn't find a single langual error. Good work on that :) However you could have done some more , but it it's more than good. Also unfortunate that the bitmaps were not very clear.
END: As a first campaign this is quite reasonable, but it needs more, much more to be a favorite of mine. I want more challenge next time. [Edited on 10/23/07 @ 12:16 PM]

(2.5 is considered average relative to original AoE campaign experience)
Playability: 2.3
Slightly bellow average: It wasn't hard at all, and in fact you could easily win by attacking the enemy right away. Sometimes the victory conditions didn't work, but either way most often it was easiest just to defeat the enmey right away rather then completing any objective. It wasn't horrible to play; had it's fun moments.
Balance: 1.7
Way too easy.
Creativity: 2.5
About average creativity. To boost this, play around a bit more with the scenarios themselves and ask yourself if your campaign has something more exciting to offer then others; or at least, some really unique aspect which makes it enjoyable.
Map Design: 2.3
Slightly bellow average. No realistic look, and not enough effort put into it as a whole. However, there are parts of maps which i can see that you really an attempt at doing something unique rather then just randoming it; yet, very unrealistic all together.
Story/Instructions: 1.3
Some victory conditions didn't work and usually completing the conditions themselves were took up way more time then would just attacking the enemy right off the bat. The story also needed way more depth; '- based on a true story -' in the history area doesn't get me to feel the history, or to feel a plot, or to in any way really get into the campaign. Try to get it so that the player feels a part of the plot - the mind which developes a campaign always knows what they themselves are thinking so shape the plot without having to write it all down, however this is not true for the player. Get the player to feel the story and to think what you are thinking as the designer.
