AoEd and RoRd are two modified versions of Ykkrosh's GeniEd(1) that could cope with the *.dat file of these two games. More information could be found in AoEH forum(http://aoe.heavengames.com/cgi-bin/aoecgi/display.cgi?action=t&fn=4) or TD board(http://z13.invisionfree.com/Tribulation_Board/index.php?showforum=6).

Known Issue:
Everytime you change to other program or windows when running AoEd/RoRd, a message "use of uninitialized value in numeric eq <==> at PERL2EXE_STORAGE/UI.pm line x" would appear. This problem had been existing even since the original version of GeniEd and can not be fixed. To avoid this issue, try not to tab to another program or window when running AoEd/RoRd. |

Try reinstalling it into another folder. I've had this bug and found ways around it. |

Way too awesome for anything less. Deserves more than 5 if only that was possible.
Additional Comments:
Actually very easy and efficient to use, after learning the (very simple) basics you can do anything to the game database using only this and a text editor.
Furthermore, keep in mind much of the AoE database is still unexplored. Only a few guys from ES know it, and they are not allowed to tell anyone. With AoEdRoRd exploring this data is simplified greatly.
This program made my Improved Editor and Composite Editor possible. Thanks to Scenario_T_C.[Edited on 02/13/09 @ 10:43 PM]

I think it's cool that you can edit the .dat but I am not really confident about my skills in this. If I see al the lines and numbers I just don't know what it means and what I can change and how. I also don't understand the "do not alter this file, always alter the patches.txt''. How do you do this. You can mail me at thompsoncs@live.nl[Edited on 10/07/09 @ 12:10 PM]
