Playability: 3
First of all there is a problem wuth the last scenario: You can only win if you kill the Chinese leader.
Not considering this I have to say that I had quite some fun playing Xerxes and Rome. The first scenario was a bit too easy, the second and third were better, but still not hard. The morst disturbing had been this rediculous setting to use hero hannibal as Xerxes who is fighting Rome! Bad idea...
Balance: 3.5
Well, the first scenario is pretty easy once you have made it to your fort. The second seemed a bit overdone with MASSES fighting, but it was ok, although not too hard. The last scenario has been the best one in all parts. I used dozens of catapults to slowly make progress. Maybe just striking with 35 AE or 70 legions would have been the faster way to win. Anyway, pretty good balance in the last one.
Creativity: 1.5
There is nearly none. The story is weird but not really imaginative. The maps are really only standard, the victory conditions are boring as they are more or less: "Kill all". There are no tricks used in this ampaign and no creative ideas in terms of gameplay or style.
Map Design: 2
Standard maps, nothing more and nothing less. Not much to say about it except that in the last scenario at least some trees have been used to increase map design.
Story/Instructions: 3.5
Even though the story was strange, at least there has been one. And it was written pretty good. The victory conditions were always clear and the pictures in the beginning have been nice although not usefull.
Additional Comments:
Download recommendation: No. It's standard stuff, not bad but you'll find hundrets like this out in the Heavens.
comment to the author: Try to focus a bit more on the quality. A scenario is more than a map which is fun to play. And a campaign is more than just a few scenarios. Keep this in mind and please do not try again to use well-known heros and civilizations to build up a fictional campaign which COULD NEVER have happened. This is sooo uncreative.
Anyway you should try and download some good campaigns, maybe Angkor Wat And The Kmer Legacy or something else from Andrea. You could learn a lot from them.
Don't be sad, I'm sure your next submission will be much better. :D
