The demo to Tribulation Design's upcoming campaign, this is about the rotting jungle city of Echmolis. Wore down by time, overgrown by the jungle. Your job is to rush the gates and get to the main island of Echmolis City.

very nice detail. I thoroughly enjoyed the big battle scenes, nice and bloody. ;) The forests are a little bland, but im sure that with time that will improve...
As a matter of fact, if you want some good guidelines/ideas, go here:

It's Andrea Rosa's site, and it helped me tremendously to become the designer that i am today. He's got a lot of good ideas. ^_^

I liked the demo to the actual campaign.
Nice bitmap and I really enjoyed unfolding the map design.
Beautiful jungles and islands. If you have ever been to any place remote you will get the feel right away.
My only concern it that spelling needs to be checked throughout the entire campaign. Nothing destroys a good story more then misspelled words and repetition. Other than that good job and hope to see the end result.

THIS IS ONLY A DEMO! SCORES FOR THE REAL VERSION MIGHT VARY!
Playability: 4.5
Echmolis is an eye-catching scenario with a very nice story and cool gameplay. There has only been one bug: I crossed the bridge, but I didn't win the scenario.
Balance: 4.5
I had to try twice until I could reach beyond the bridge. Revealing the map I have seen there are other untis to help you out (like a CA and a catapult) so I guess it is just a little bit too easy. Really not much and still, this is the very first scenario of the upcoming campaign.
Another thing was that there is no difficulty until the very end of the scenario. Some people might be confused by this.
Creativity: 4.8
The scenario is too short to do a real creativity analysis. So I just took the average score here.
Map design and storyline show promising aspects, though.
Map Design: 5
Fantastic! There's no other word to describe it. It's a modern map design with some older elements in it, great mixture. I'm looking forward to see more of this and maybe see the designer's own style.
Story/Instructions: 5
Even though it was just a teaser, the story develops greatly and it made me addicted right away. I WANT to continue the campaign.
Then the bitmap is awesome, too. It fits perfectly to the map design style. Just wonderfull!
Additional Comments:
As I mentioned above, this is only a teaser. You won't play it longer than 15 minutes or so but this time had been really exciting.
I am really looking forward for this release. |

As this is just a demo of what is to be a complete campaign, I think putting down a few comments would have been sufficient. You have valid points and I think the designer will take them into account. I have played this and enjoyed what I saw. I feel your scores for this demo are in fact too high. I don’t want to discourage Chris but if you reread the areas I have pointed out you will see my point.

Playability: 4.5
I played it a couple times, liked the fact that you feel like a invidual in that you start of with yourself, then take on some units to help you out. However it does not entail real action till the end.
Balance: 4.6
No Building, instead relies on Scouting , managing units, and laying siege to forts. Note: scouting with those light transporters takes time.
Creativity: 4.7
Hard work at design scene, trick like jumping of cliffs, etc. Excellent though I was preparing to do battle with some 'hidden demons' to start of with.
Map Design: 4.6
Good detail, but some minor corrections needs. There are missing stoneways in towns, cliffs that have space between land, unnatural looking corners in beach areas, beyond the final destination is blank, etc.. (I was expecting to see at least one TradeShop :-?)
Story/Instructions: 4.6
Sounds good, but did reread it to get (final destination is in Hostile Terr). Needs a review of spelling. Entails Need of Scouting , managing units, and laying siege to f
Additional Comments:
For a rough draft of a campaign (? what is tribulation about? can some one explain it to me in basic terms) it is promising. |

The fact that I couldn't get off the cliff after 5 minutes put me right off. Solution anyone? |
