Hersifon was a simple man...so simple that few considered him a soldier. This Carthagian "villager" often received letters from friends in other lands, which was very rare amongst the anti-social Carthagian people, the "hermits" of the ancient world.
Hersifon's letters contained everything from Christmas greetings (but there was
no Christ!), birthday presents, and information. Occasionally, his distant
relatives would even try to put him in work, something he always rejected. He
never, ever, wanted to work, for anyone, or anything. That was, until the letter
he received today...
