The Barberian takes place in a time where the Hittite ruled. But some people (The Barberians as theyre called) fight back. You (in the game you are Alexander) must save the contenent by doing all sorts of things. Battling great wars or racing the clock to find something and other quests. All 10 scenarios are on the 1 map but you can only explore a limited amount each scenario to make them directly linked with the story line. If you wanted (or mabye need) to go back to a part of another level you can do so. Some of the battles are the hardest youll find around they dont just consist of marching your army in and killing becuase youll most likely be extreamily outnumbered so you will need to think it through. Enjoy! (the history is made up so dont send me an email saying "that never happend!")
This campaign is a simple with some fun in it. When I read the title The Barbarians I thought I was going to play Romans or be the Romans fighting barbarians but I was wrong.
Playability (1-5):3
It was fun to play but at times was boring. It had classic goals (bring artifact to town centre). But this sector could be improved.
Creativity (1-5):2
Nothing really much creative about it. It was simple and you played as the Hittites against a tribe of Barbarians.
Balance (1-5):3
The balance wasn't good as I was always tipped in the players favour and could easily win. So it wasn't very challenging.
Map Design (1-5):2
Map design was simple. Often uses the same over and over again but said in the read me file that this was meant to happen. The maps were basic just a river and a path through the trees. There is no eye candy at all. :(
Story/Instr (1-5):2
This part was just made up of a few lines and the goals. Which is sad and there's no bitmap either. :(
Final comment
This campaign can be greatly improved and it would be easy to improve it. I think the author of this campaign is a novice designer. If this was your first noah you did ok. But this campaign has a lot of potential but it seems like it's wasted :( Which is sad.
