Travel through 3,000 years of ancient Egyptian splendor through a campaign that is both historically, and geographically accurate. Build Khufu's pyramid, ransack the Nubians, and defeat the mighty armies of Canaan! A short tutorial campaign is also included.
Well, well, well. I can see who ever made this made a reasonable effort. Here's my thought on it:
Playability: 3.7
This game was nice at first, but when I got to about the tenth scenario, I started to get bored. This campaign is long, and sometimes quite monotonous. Sometimes I like to fight rather than run around Egypt with a priest converting villagers and waitng eons to rejuvenate enough to convert. Some of the scenarios were good; others were...blech.
Balance: 4.1
Balance was good. Fighting was fair and I felt like I could hold the enemy off. And in games where you havd no enemy, well, that's where I fall short. I am only a novice and I like to see blood. Overall, I WOULD say that your balance is good.
Creativity: 3.3
Well, no one expected THIS. No one I know of would write up a 22 or so scenario campaign on the History of Egypt. Not that that is a bad thing, that's unique and creative. But please, remember this:
-4 scenarios is ok
-10 is great
-anything above 14 makes a player scream
Map Design: 3.7
Map design never (at least to me) seemed to be a random map. Mebbe just a bit better. I saw few blocky patches, but all in all, a decent map scheme.
Story/Instructions: 4.9
The BEST part of the camel's carcass: the hump. The story line is the history of Egypt. It is very, very, very informative and has few grammar mistakes. Lovely work.
Additional Comments:
This "Big Boy" campaign of its time is a decent piece of work. However, like the locomotive, it will be bypassed by smaller, more advanced, faster paced works.
