Review : ; Seven scenario's based on the story of two brothers ruling a small kingdom. You are to take orders from your older brother and accomplish each task to his specifications. Failure to do so will have you bannished from the kingdom. You must not let your brother die, nor must you die, or the kingdom will be lost. Everything seems fine, untill one day your brother has to leave town on urgent business leaving you to care for the kingdom. When he arrives, he just doesn't seem the same anymore...
Brothers - Till death to us part. I had a funny feeling that this campaign wouldn't be too bad, and it wasn't. It surpassed my expectations as well, it was very creative and I enjoyed playing it a lot.
As I have said, I quite enjoyed this campaign. It had a vast mix of styles, plenty of challenges, and creativity: my favorite aspect.
Not at all lacking in this department, except map design. But that is a separate area. The story was good, and very unusual. And the victory conditions and style mix was great. You'll find yourself in some great scenarios with the range covering defend right through to quest. The one thing you must see is the ending: truly like no other.
It started off a little easy, and I was afraid I would finish it in time for tea. But it quickly got tough, and I found the second last scenario impossible for a long while, you'll need some ingenious trick to win it. And believe it or not, you cannot win this campaign, not matter how great you think you are!
Map Design: 3
This area needs the most work. The cities weren't too bad. A touch of nice eye candy, and some great path effects. But the nice courtyard was not enough to raise the score for two reasons:
1: The rest of the map was poor, lacking in elevations, and containing large blocks of forest
2: There should have been more effort, since the same map is used in the whole campaign. I did like the continuity though.
A strong story, sometimes a little odd, but very entertaining, and plenty of nice twists. Like I said, the ending is something you need to see for yourself.
This is a very good effort by the Sarge. Play it if you like the sound of it, it's a great campaign.
