This is a demo scenario of a campaign I am working on. (This is the only unoriginal map I've used, you can tell by the name) If you want to see more let me know, because I spend a lot of time on each map. This will be a very detailed campaign and I have a few new ideas. Multiplayer also : ; ; ; No
Playability: 2.9
This scenario is a B&D that starts in a very abnormal setting that continues throughout the rest of the game. You start, along with all the other players, around the perimeter of a large oasis. With no docks allowed, everything must be done by land, and so the game feels like a long journey. It's really quite interesting, and each new civilization you come to has it's own little unique fortress and surrounding terrain. The drawbacks here were the objectives---requiring you to cut through a very large wood to build a wonder within it, and then build government centers where every enemy TC once stood. This makes for a very long, average game kept fun by the changing settings. Overall, different, but still a decent play.
Balance: 2.6
Each new civ I come to conquer while travelling along the perimeter of the map offers fairly inconsistent resistance. One thing I learned form this scenario however, was the horrible things the priests can do. This is mostly a matter of time, as you aren't really attacked much during the game. There is a decent amount of thinking to do if you want to win the game anytime soon, though.
Creativity: 3.5
Very interesting. Very uniquely shaped map and I haven't seen anything like it. The map is the main creative element here, and it really makes the scenario. The gameplay and story were unfortunately quite average, but the map was certainly not something you see everyday. I also liked the changing setting of each civ.
Map Design: 4.5
Great. While bland in a few spots, this was fantastic. There was loads and loads of effort put into this one, mostly something that you have to see to believe. The amount of gaia objects and decorations used is quite high. Excellent.
Story/Instructions: 2.4
Quick story and instructions, with a few hints. Not really original and quite run-of-the-mill. Could certainly use more of a story.
