The first of many campaigns about Hero Hector. It has challenging mazes and a good storyline. My cousin helped a little with the mazes in the first two Scenarios. The last Scenario is a great battle between Hector's Army, and the Samauri. Very fun to play. I am working on my next campaign about Hero Hector called The Life and Times of Hero Hector #2-Carthaginian'll have more challenges, but will be for RoR.

Playability: 1.5
Downloading old campaigns is like searching for gold. Very few times you will be lucky finding a nice campaign but most times you will be disappointed. So it is here. This campaign is boring as hell because it's simply too easy and the creativity is outstandingly low. Sorry to say this, but I would have rather not downloaded this one.

Balance: 1
Ridiulously easy would be unerestimated. this campaign is a walk in the park - except that walking in the park holds at least the chance of being kidnapped ;) Honestly this campaign has neither difficults nor has it need for tactics or whatever. You will win every scenario with your initial troops. No need to build some more which is indeed boring.

Creativity: 1.5
Well, well I'd give a 1 if there wasn't some design elemnts within this campaign. Namely it's the base in the third mission which is also surely the best one. A story doesn't exist, neither do victory conditions change. It's always "kill the Samauri". There is nothing original about this campaign and I'm sure I won't remember it for very long.

Map Design: 1.5
As I mentioned above the city in the third level was ok. So far the good points. Now what's bad? All the rest! Starting off with forest maps consinsting of 80% forest brush, going on to huge ressource clumps, moving on to very rare use of elevations and ending up in badly placed cities. To speak briefly - the whole maps are mess.

Story/Instructions: 1
I would give cero points here, if possible. There are no hints, no history and no bitmaps. this could still be an avarage part, but the "story" is only two lines each scenario which don't give you any clue about the story. To make it even worse the designer didn't seem to be willing to tell me what to do. All right, since it's always the same (kill the Samauri) it is not really needed to be said over and over again ;) Very bad work here. :(

download recommendation: No!

The designer should be reading the desinging hints on the heavens page if he wants to continue designing. First of all you need a topic on what your campaign is based. then go on and think of which parts you could want to play and how you might keep the interest of the player. But well, just read them...
