Sir Trakhis - Legions from Hell

Author File Description
File Details
Difficulty: Hard
When I started designing AoE scenarii in 1998, I had played the game for two weeks and fiddled a little with the scenario editor when I went back to England and couldn't play for 3 months. During that time I designed a lot of scenarii on paper, including a campaingn focused on a hero named Sir Trakhis. Went I had at last access to a computer, I discovered with horror that many features of the editor didn't work exactly as advertised (among others the fact that the CP couldn't care less about individual VC instructed to it such as bring a unit to a specific spot). Only 3 of my Sir Trakhis scenarii could be salvaged. Out of them, the first two were beginner's attempt and are not worth submitting. This one came later, and I think is up to the standards of most players. The storyline unfolds as follows : Sir Trakhis have become a king but invaders from a hellish dimension are threatening to end human civilization. As he discovers a way to turn the odds, he is abducted. You play a small party of loyal followers whose mission is to save him and help him get an artifact which is necessary for him to repel the invaders. After an intial skirmish, you will have to build a base and then pick your strategy carefully : where to go first, what units to use. There are two versions of the scenario : one "hard", one "easy (moderate to hard would probably be more accurate). The differences are as follows : in the easy version you start in the tool age (versus bronze in the other), but there is no time limit. The "easy" version is in French, but the instructions are exactly the same (except for the reference to the time limit). Difficulty should be set to "hard" (below that level the CP doesn't follow the .per files very well). It was designed as an AoE scenario so using RoR units and upgrades may alter the balance of the game, making it easier. Hope you enjoy it. Multiplayer also : ; ; ; No
